About Joshua

Born and raised in Albemarle County, Josh has a deep knowledge of the area, specializing in residential homes, first time home buyers, investment properties, land and farms. His love of the bucolic landscapes and settings of this beautiful part of the world started early, growing up in rural North Garden. After attending the local public schools, he was fortunate to attend and graduate from the University of Virginia. Even after broadening his worldview by traveling to 22 countries in 5 continents over the years, he has never found a place as special as Virginia to call home.  

He brings a wealth of knowledge and life experiences to the practice of real estate. A reputation for easy demeanor, hard work, multitasking ability, keeping a level head, and anticipating a client’s needs comes from work in several prominent local restaurants. Collaborative problem solving, continuous improvement, finding mutually beneficial results, and effective communication comes from a nearly two decade career as a facilitator for team building, ropes courses, and corporate leadership development programs. Property management, knowing when to tackle a repair or improvement yourself versus calling in the pros, and the process of turning a house into a home comes from owning homes and rentals in several parts of Albemarle County. Patience, organizational skills, flexibility, and empathy come from raising three children.  

When not practicing real estate, you can find Josh enjoying the bounty of year round outdoor activities available in Virginia. During and after UVA he worked as an instructor and guide teaching people how to rock climb, mountain bike, and kayak whitewater rivers in Virginia. Ask him sometime about any of these activities and he’ll point you towards some amazing local adventures! He also enjoys gardening, home improvements, cooking, and enjoying the lively arts, music and culture offered by his hometown. He lives in Albemarle County with his wife Susan, their three children, and SPCA dogs.
