The Real Estate III School of Real Estate was established in 2006 for the purpose of providing exceptional education and training for pre-licensing, newly licensed agents and our ever-growing cadre of experienced, professional agents.

Along with offering many of the classes required for biennial license renewal (Please click the link above for more information), Real Estate III provides advanced in-house training, designation classes and instruction in the specialized techniques utilized for the sale of new construction. Our instructors are experienced managers and agents who combine their knowledge of the real estate industry with years of practical experience.


PRE-LICENSE EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

This in-classroom course fufills the 60 hour requirement to sit for the Virginia state salesperson licensing examination.
Upon successful completion of this class, students may register for the exam through PSI Examination Services.

NEW AGENT TRAINING

New agent training at Real Estate III is a three week program offered bi-monthly for agents new to the industry or new to our company. Several sessions offer continuing education for either PLE or CE credits. A total of 25 PLE credits can be earned upon completion of the course. A brief description of each session follows.

Sue Plaskon, Director

Sue has been the Director of Training for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III since 1988 and also is an active associate for both home buyers and sellers in the community. She was licensed in 1977 and earned her Associate Broker’s license in 1986. Sue was a classroom teacher in grades K-2 prior to embarking on her real estate career. She has trained hundreds of agents, many of whom have become the top producing agents in our Association. Sue has consistently been a member of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III’s Circle of Excellence since its inception, and has been recognized by CAAR as a member of their Honor Society and a recipient of their Salesperson of the Year award. She holds both B.S. and M. A. degrees from the University of Connecticut.

Pat Widhalm, Dean of Faculty 

Pat is Vice President and Risk Management Director of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate III. She is a certified Code of Ethics instructor; an NAR certified professional standards procedures instructor; a certified mediator; a certified REB continuing education instructor; a senior faculty member of the Central Virginia School of Real Estate.

Pat has been a real estate educator for over 30 years and is an Associate Professor, Adjunct Faculty, in the Business, Technologies and Math Division of Piedmont Virginia Community College. She has won many awards over the years, the most noteworthy being the VAR Code of Ethics Leadership Award , the VAR Outstanding Educator Award, and Charter Member of the VAR Hall of Fame Award in 2007. Pat has served on several Boards of Directors and serves as a volunteer mediator within the real estate community.
