Betty became a full time Realtor® in 2001. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Virginia Association of Realtors, Charlottesville Area Association of Realtors and has served on the Membership Committee for the local association.
Having spent most of her life as a resident of
WESTERN
ALBEMARLE
COUNTY, Betty is married to Ken, they have son and a daughter and two granddaughters (whom she loves to spoil). She enjoys working in her greenhouse, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Prior to becoming a Realtor®, Betty and her husband owned and operated Thomas Office Machines, Inc. in
Charlottesville for over 18 years. As a small business owner, she was involved in sales, customer service and financial oversight of the business. She also spent 3 years in sales and marketing of contract office furniture. While in this position, she traveled throughout central
Virginia doing layout and design of offices.
Betty continues to take classes so that she can stay on top of changes in the real estate industry. She is a Graduate, Realtor Institute; Accredited Buyer Representative; Seniors Real Estate Specialist; a Certified New Homes Specialist and is Quality Service Certified. All these designations required many hours of class time as well as study. Betty thinks that a knowledgeable real estate agent is in a better position to assist her clients, whether buying or selling.
With her background in sales, business ownership/management and her attention to detail, she will look out for your best interest -- whether buying or selling. It is her desire to have happy and satisfied customers.
In 2008, Betty’s husband joined her so they could apply the team approach they had found so successful in their business together as Thomas Office Machines, Inc. They are convinced that two are better than one when it comes to keeping you abreast of the changing real estate market, new laws on disclosure, agency and fair housing. By listening carefully to your needs and goals and then working hard to help you achieve them, the Thomas Team goes beyond the sale/purchase to cover the multitude of details required prior to arriving at the closing table.
